Hello, I'm Bill. As you can probably tell, I live (lived) somewhere
near Tampa Bay, Florida. Originally, I'm from Michigan, but now I live
in Conyers, Georgia near Atlanta. I love the Florida weather and I
enjoyed living in the Tampa Bay area, but for business and personal
reasons I moved to Georgia.
I made this website 20 years ago, but it's been in the mothballs for
many years now. I have always enjoyed working at my computer and
I like artwork and graphics.
I've been thinking about bringing this site back for the heck of it, but when
I started actually doing it, I was a little disappointed, because the original
'Bill's Home Page' was designed using Java Applets which made it fun, but now those
applets don't work at all. Apparently Google, Apple, Microsoft and others
decided that they didn't want applets running in there browsers, so that takes
away some of the fun.
One thing that's unique about this website is the use of a remote control. I experimented
with a remote mostly because I was intrigued by those that other people had
made and because I wanted to see if I could do it. To start, I created this remote in Photoshop,
then it was sliced into pieces and connected with javascript to give it the effect of
movement.
The pictures you find here are ones I took in my travels
to the Bahamas, to Washington DC, to Las Vagas, and during outings around Florida.
You'll also find a collection of jokes which I call Howlin'
Humor. Most of these jokes have circulated around the Internet
and found their way into my e-mail. The ones I liked best, I
tried to improve on and make more interesting by adding graphics,
animated gifs and java animations. I hope they give you a chuckle as they have just done for
me once again.
Another section I call Bill's
Bits is a collection of things I found on the Internet or elsewhere. The Thanksgiving
message is a bit of poetry written by my brother.
As you look around you'll see that this website was designed with friends and relatives in mind,
but I hope you enjoy looking it over.
A lot of stuff is very personal to me, and may not be of much
interest to anyone other than friends and family, but my hope
is that you'll enjoy my website as much as I enjoyed bringing it out of the mothballs.
Thanks for visiting,
Bill :-)
